ORGANIC MELTING BODY BUTTER: SILHOUETTE

ORGANIC MELTING BODY BUTTER: SILHOUETTE

Silhouette is one of my favourite products: organic melting body butter. It is a genuine indulgence for the body. Imagine you feed your body with chocolate and as a consequence you fight against cellulite? Interesting diet 🙂 isn’t it? And yes, it has indeed an aroma of white chocolate with nuts.

RESULT

Once you apply this organic melting body butter, skin looks nourished, soft and velvety. Its ingredients are facilitating the micro-circulation and are reinforcing skin elasticity. As a result, they fight against cellulite and orange peel.

YOU CAN DO IT

You can do this solid bar cream by yourself even if you never tried before doing cosmetics by yourself. I have recorded a 3 min video and posted it on my blog so that you would see how simple it is. All ingredients are easy to find in shops / pharmacy / online.

If you are ready to pass to action and try, then this could be a good occasion.

I have selected this recipe to give you confidence that you can DIY (do it yourself) and get as a result a high quality product with visible effect. You would benefit of 100% natural product and >99% organic. Prepared with respect to yourself and the nature. No additives, no preservatives etc. No packaging means as well less carbon footprint.

HOW TO USE

I apply it on wet skin after the washing gel. I do not rinse it. I just go out of the bath and tap the body with a towel. Attention, try it in the evening when you dress home clothes afterwards. It is an easy, quick and efficient way to nourish and hydrate your body.

The effect is also better in my opinion than applying a cream. If you always forget or do not have time to apply a cream, then this melting bar would be a very simple solution for you.

One bar goes quite quickly. That is why I usually do several. 100 ml of formula gives 3-4 bars which are sufficient for 1 month. I keep one bar in the bathroom, on a soap dish, and rest in the fridge. I also like using it for the hands instead of a cream. I put one bar in the kitchen and apply it from time to time.

TEST

Always test a new product before you use it for the 1st time. Make sure you are not allergic to any ingredient.

INGREDIENTS

For 100 g:

  • Organic cacao butter: 51 g,
  • Organic shea butter: 22 g,
  • Organic macadamia vegetable oil: 18 g,
  • Organic hazelnut vegetable oil: 8 g,
  • Wax: 1 g. Preferable organic Candelilla wax (Euphorbia cerifera). You can also use organic bee wax.
  • Vitamin E: 2 drops, optional.

f

INGREDIENTS PROPERTIES

Macadamia vegetable oil facilitates the micro-circulation helping to fight against cellulite and orange peel.

Cacao butter reinforces skin elasticity. It helps fighting against cellulite and against skin aging.

Perfect marriage! In addition, both macadamia oil and cacao butter are nourishing the skin.

Shea butter is soothing, healing and repairing the skin.

Hazelnut oil softens the skin and gives it a silky touch.

Vitamin E is optional. Since the product does not contain water, you do not need any preservatives. Vitamin E is enough. It protects against the oxidation of the product and preserve its properties throughout the storage period.

TOOLS

You can use classical kitchen utensils. Ideally you would need a silicone mould. You might already have one available in the kitchen which you use for ice cubes, home made chocolate etc. Once used for cosmetics, do not use it for food anymore. If nothing available, then you would easily find online or in shops.

f

HYGIENE

The most important is to avoid water while you prepare the product. I clean all my tools with alcohol which I buy in pharmacy/shop.

f

HOW TO PREPARE

Put all the ingredients into a bowl. One by one.

Put the bowl into a pan with water.

Put the pan on the stove. You need to heat the water, so that the ingredients are melting into the bowl. Just pay attention that no water would go into the bowl. The last one to melt will be the wax needs to get to around 70C.

When all ingredients have melted, you take the bowl out of the stove. You let it cool down a little bit and then you can add optionally 2 drops of vitamin E.

Pour the liquid into the silicone moulds. You will need 3-4 moulds. Let them cool completely.

Put the moulds into the fridge and keep them there for several hours. Usually I let them over the night.

Unmould the cream bars.

Easy, isn’t?

CONSERVATION TIME

Potentially 6 months in the fridge. I usually do small quantities and use the bars within 1 month.

DO YOU WANT TO PERSONALYSE THE PRODUCT?

You can replace the ingredients. From my experience, I can mention that:

  • Vegetable oils should be up to maximum 40% and butter (shea butter, cacao etc) minimum 60%. Otherwise the final product will be too liquid. In above formula I use 26% of vegetable oils.
  • There are vegetable oils which should not be heated like rosehip, evening primrose, raspberry, cherry etc. Then then you need first to melt the butter, cacao and wax. Take it from the stove. Wait that it gets colder (around max 30C) and then add the vegetable oil. Vitamin as well is better to add after you take the liquid out of the stove.

Enjoy! Would love hearing from your experience! Don’t forget to test the product before using.
